It distinguishes between strong and weak relationships. It has strong relationships with the basic disciplines such as cybernetics, computer science, mathematics, physics, electronics, automation technology, robotics, information science, general technology, microelectronics, telecommunications technologies, electrotechnology, video- and audio-technology and others. Weaker relationships it has with such branches as mathematical statistics, ergonomics, economics, material science, standardization, safety and hygiene, fine mechanics, ecology, terminology, reprography, optics, aesthetics, scientific prognostics, law and others. Some relationships are illustrated by common notions and terms.
