AB "Technická olympiáda" is a contest in the Slovak republic that aims at primary school students and is organised by the Technics and information technologies department. This is its seventh year. The aim of this contest is to support the gifted primary school pupils in the subject Technics. The contest has two categories. The category A is for the 8th a 9th grade students and the local winners proceed to the all state round. The category B is for the 5th to 7th grade students and it finishes at the local levels. Both categories consist of two parts: the test and practical task solving activities. The authors focus in their report on the analysis of the tests, that were used in each of the all state rounds in the first six grades. The analysis of the test questions regards: the type of the tests, subject fields of Technics and the Niemierko's taxonomy.
