AB Information and communication technologies now provide a variety of opportunities for improvement of the educational process. Therefore, they are coming to the forefront of teachers who thus face new challenges and on whom new demands are placed. They have to be ready not only to use modern didactic resources and technology, but also to create suitable teaching materials, and apply the later in classes. We have responded to these needs by the preparation and implementation of the project Modern teacher, by means of which we provided the target group, that is to say the teaching staff of partner schools, with comprehensive training and methodological support in the implementation of modern teaching methods, built on the meaningful use of ICT in education, with a special focus on advanced touch devices. This paper presents the solution procedure and main results of the project Modern teacher (CZ.1.07/1.3.00/51.0041), which is financed by the European Social Fund and the state budget of the Czech Republic.
