AB The essay deals with the comparison of the marking of word problems which were solved by primary school pupils and secondary school students in the South Bohemia region. They were solving several types of word problems. The results were assessed in groups - word problems solved by girls, word problems solved by boys and also all results. On this base, the differences in solving the word problems between girls and boys and the differences in solving different types of word problems such as the word problems on the whole and parts, on mixtures, on movement and on common work were found out.
