DEVELOPMENT TRENDS OF DISTANCE LEARNING REALIZED IN THE FORM OF E-LEARNING

The paper deals with the identification and the description of the key development trends in the field of distance learning in the form of e-learning. Besides the frequently emphasized technological and technical development trends, the article deals with often neglected education- oriented trends, based on the application of constructivist learning theory.

Keywords: distance learning, e-learning, LMS system, virtual reality, education simulation, constructivism, learning strategies, educational goals.
