The present contribution is aimed at description of a model of mechanical separator that can be utilized as a didactic tool in educational process. The model of the separator can to be also applied in the study of gas flow in a separator. The study of many processes simplifies through their visualisation. That is why the contribution involves a description of a device/equipment for gas flow visualization by means of aerosols ("smoke wire").

Keywords: louver separator, flow visualization, smoke wire.
