SOLUTIONS OF SECOND ORDER LINEAR DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS IN EDUCATION OF AUTOMATION

ABAS Marcel

TVV 2010, 3(1):21-23

In the area of operations research, linear differential equations with constant coefficients very frequently occur. A standart way to solve such equations is using the method of variation of constants or Laplace transform. For some of linear differential equations with constant coefficients one can use both methods, while for the other is possible to use only one of them. In particular, if the right-hand side of the equation is a discontinuous function, it is not possible solve it by the method of variation of constants. On the other hand, if boundary conditions are of a special type, it is not possible to use Laplace transformation to solve the differential...

Modeling of these processes via dynamic fields of velocity and pressure visualizations is very useful for optimal design of mechanical constructions of equipments for many other applications [1, 2 etc.]. In this chapter the some aspects of digital particle image velocimetry (DPIV) based on vortex flows in quasi-regular heat-exchanging structures with the tracer-correlative technique are presented and considered. The classical shell-and-tube heat exchangers are commonly applied for heat transfer in flow [1, 3, 4].

DEVICE FOR MEASURING THE CONCENTRATION OF CARBON OXIDES IN GAS AND ITS APPLICATION IN THE TEACHING PROCESS

SPODNIAK Pavel

TVV 2010, 3(1):585-587

The article gives a description of the experimental device for measuring the concentration of carbon oxides in the gases. The plant was constructed at the Department of Environmental Technology, Technical University in Zvolen. This device is used in teaching the subject of the Technical Means of Measuring and Monitoring for students of study Programme Engineering Machinery and Equipment.

PROGRAMMING OF LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT IN LABVIEW BACKGROUND

TOPIČ Petr

TVV 2010, 3(1):588-591

The article describes the usage of software LabVIEW for programming models with the implemented "intelligent brick" NXT. It mostly concerns the solution to the problem of direct command (NXT Direct Command) and the making of new robotic programmes (NXT Toolkit). Finally you can find in this article a concrete example of the usage of this programme at the Secondary school.

APPLIED MATHEMATICS IN THE CONTEXT OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION

VAGASKÁ Alena

TVV 2010, 3(1):592-595

At the faculties of technical universities, teaching of mathematics should be aimed at the development of students' abilities to apply their knowledge of mathematics to the technology, mathematical modelling as well as numerical solutions of engineering problems. Within the structuralization of university studies, the subject Applied Mathematics, which has been introduced to the freshmen engineering studies at the Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies in Preąov, supplies a suitable space for it. Emphasizing the effectiveness of technical education at universities and applicative character of mathematical disciplines, the paper presents the implementation...
