TVV 2020, 13(2):13-20 | DOI: 10.5507/tvv.2020.010

Changes in society place demands on the role of the teacher in teaching, who should, in addition to knowledge, also expand the portfolio of competencies and other useful tools applicable in teaching when communicating with pupils. This paper presents the experience with a recently accredited education program for teachers in the field of leadership carried out at one managerial faculty. The aim of the paper is to evaluate the benefits of this non-formal education using a two-round questionnaire survey. All 31 participants in the program took part in the survey. We found that too many participants did not encounter the concept of leadership in previous...

TECHNICAL THINKING AND GEOMETRIC IMAGINATION

BEISETZER Peter

TVV 2020, 13(2):21-30 | DOI: 10.5507/tvv.2020.017

Geometric imagination is a unique ability and a significant prerequisite to performing numerous tasks in engineering professional practice. Therefore, intentional development of geometric imagination shall be incorporated into the system of technical thinking development. The primary focus is on the conceptual and systematic application of the educational model reflecting the findings about the actual level of geometric imagination of learners. Thus, the above-mentioned gave rise to the initiative to provide pedagogical professional practice with recommendations leading to the innovation of intentional development of geometric imagination within the...

CRITICAL THINKING IN TECHNICAL ISSUES OF ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION

BĄK Mirosław, KALINICHENKO Antonina

TVV 2020, 13(2):78-88 | DOI: 10.5507/tvv.2020.019

Critical rationalism is one of the dominant trends in contemporary philosophy and the scientific method is not radically different from the rational approach in other areas of human activity. The social belief in the conclusions drawn from scientific theories is based on the coherence of individuals’ experience and the well-established knowledge obtained from the education process. The attitude that everything proven at a given moment can be questioned is the base of the critical thinking. The willingness to consider problems in a thoughtful way, supported by the ability to use methods of logical reasoning, plays an extremely important role in...

This paper summarizes the current academic discussion on the implementation of the computational thinking development at the level of state curricula, both in the Czech Republic and foreign states. It summarizes partial contents of selected curricula and their understanding of computational thinking and compares the reform taking place in the Czech Republic with foreign experiences. The article consists of four chapters, which deal with the concept of computational thinking in the upcoming reform of the FEP, the issue of developing computational thinking in compulsory education aboard, partial contents of curricula with regard to the understanding...

CREATION OF A SOFTWARE TOOL FOR THE TEACHING PRACTICE OUTCOMES’ MANAGEMENT AND REGISTRATION WITHIN THE STAG STUDY AGENDA SYSTEM

KLEMENT Milan, KOTOUČ Tomáš

TVV 2020, 13(2):48-54 | DOI: 10.5507/tvv.2020.009

Teaching is a regulated profession today and is therefore controlled not only by the Palacky University Internal Assessment Board (RVH UP), the National Accreditation Bureau (NAÚ), but also by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports as a guarantor of regulated professions. An integral part of teacher programs is a codified system of student teaching experience (teaching practice), the purpose of which is for the students to practically apply the theoretical knowledge, acquired by the latter from general and professional didactics, in terms of real teaching at school facilities. The management of teaching practices and their outcomes is thus an...

USEFUL E-RESOURCES FOR TEACHING MATHEMATICS FROM THE STUDENTS´ VIEW

DOFKOVÁ Radka

TVV 2020, 13(2):55-61 | DOI: 10.5507/tvv.2020.018

The current situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic has shown the need for teaching students to be familiar with the currently available electronic resources that will facilitate their self-study and at the same time have the required didactic potential for the use of distance learning. Also in connection with the requirement to increase the digital literacy of students in revisions of curricular documents, students should build a positive relationship with digital technologies. The paper is based on the principles of Open Education (OE) supporting the free dissemination of knowledge which, thanks to the internet, can be used quickly, free of charge,...

COMPUTER SCIENCE TEXTBOOKS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF TEACHERS

MALIŠŮ Petri, ŠALOUN Petr

TVV 2020, 13(2):62-67 | DOI: 10.5507/tvv.2020.012

In today’s world of digital technology, the question arises whether there is still a place for traditional paper textbooks, in particular in informatics-related subjects that are using mainly computers for teaching. This paper sums up early results of the research: “The usage of educational materials in informatics“ focused on the role of textbooks in informatics. The research explored the following topics: whether teachers are using textbooks and how, what are the weak points of current textbooks and how teachers imagine an ideal computer science textbook.

INFORMATICS TEACHERS` PREFERENCES WITH RESPECT TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE THEMATIC UNIT OF ALGORITMIZING AND PROGRAMMING INTO TEACHING

KLEMENT Milan, DRAGON Tomáš

TVV 2020, 13(2):68-77 | DOI: 10.5507/tvv.2020.014

The development and incorporation of the concept of pupils' computational thinking into the curriculum of computer science subjects is currently one of the major challenges which the Czech school system is facing. Within the framework of the related discussion, the argument accentuating the necessity of the implementation of a mandatory thematic unit aimed at teaching algorithmization and programming as the main tool for further development gains strength. It should become the main cross-cutting topic across different age categories of pupils and students. When implementing the innovated curriculum of informatics subjects, it is necessary to take into...

PROBLEMATIC SLOVAK DIMINUTIVES IN EDUCATIONAL PRACTICE

STOFFA Ján

TVV 2020, 13(2):31-42 | DOI: 10.5507/tvv.2020.015

The study presents problems in the use of Slovak diminutives in the practice of educators, especially techno- and infoeducators. It describes diminutives as specific terms, which are used mainly as elements of multi-word terms. It points out that in scientific-technical terminology (terminology as a set of terms) only such diminutives are to be used, which are an expression of the smallness of objects, or a small degree of something. Emotionally colored diminutives, which are an important stylistic means in colloquial or artistic style, should not be used in scientific or professional style, and therefore are not part of the scientific-technical terminology....

CONTEMPORARY TRENDS IN SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL TERMINOLOGY

STOFFA Ján, STOFFOVÁ Veronika

TVV 2020, 13(2):43-47 | DOI: 10.5507/tvv.2020.016

The study characterizes current worldwide trends in scientific and technical terminology (terminology in the narrower sense). From the existing trends, the study identifies those that are most relevant to techno- and info-educators and will allow them to assess whether or not the term in question is consistent with these trends. These are: uncontrolled increase in the number of new terms, transfer of terms from other languages, internationalization of terminology, increase in the number of homonymous terms, increase in the number of synonymous terms, increase in the number of hybrid terms, increase in the number of multicomponent, increase in the number...
