TVV 2016, 9(1):1-9 | DOI: 10.5507/tvv.2016.001

Article Using experimentation for solving problem in school mathematics wants to show how the method called research approach can be involved to the teaching of school mathematics. It shows how experimentation can be used in the research approach and how the experimentation can be used for exploring mathematical situations or possibly for solving mathematical problems. Using this method we can teach pupils and students to solve problems by themselves, or in the case of mathematical situations to explore them. Pupils and students can get to know the creative aspect of mathematics as a way to finding solutions to mathematical problems. The aim is to...

TVV 2016, 9(1):101-109 | DOI: 10.5507/tvv.2016.014

This article is devoted to the construction of an ellipse of given elements. Among the less known construction of the conic section include the structures derived from the space, mostly conic constructs are made through focus properties or based on collineation between circle and conic. Construction of ellipses in individual tasks are solved using a relationship derived from space. In all tasks we know the center of the ellipse and other elements - points and tangents of constructed ellipse. To constructions of ellipses there are used sections on an appropriately chosen rotating cylindrical surface which is displayed at the listed projection.

TVV 2016, 9(1):279-288 | DOI: 10.5507/tvv.2016.041

Today most scientists recognize a gifted student as a student with special educational needs. A gifted student has different from their classmates possibilities, expectations and problems. They usually have no problems with school education (at least at the beginning of it), but they often need special support and sometimes even therapeutic intervention. In the context of the problem: SEN (special educational needs) - outstanding ability, it is worth considering students with disabilities. Is it possible to treat students with disabilities in Polish schools as gifted persons/children?
